Where We Grow

Razee's Berry Farm is located in Southwest Iowa, about 37 miles southeast of Omaha, in the town of Imogene.  Situated between the East and West Nishnabotna Rivers and surrounded by acres of rich farmland, our farm site is nestled in a small valley on the south side of town. Our 16 acre farm is being converted from corn and bean fields into a farm devoted to organic farming practices offering high quality produce. Blue herons, bald eagles, fox, deer, quail, pheasants and the red tailed hawk, can be seen from time to time near our farm.  Each spring as the winter's snow begins to melt and the emerald leaves of garlic begin to grow, geese begin their long journey from the south and pass overhead as they fly to Canada. In the autumn, our stately silver maple behind our house, provides a temporary rest stop for hundreds of Monarch Butterflies on there way to the forests in Mexico. 

 What We Grow

Raspberries and Blueberries. These small fruits pack a high amount of antioxidants which help in general health. We have red and yellow..yes yellow raspberries along with blue blueberries. Every year we plant strawberries....it seems the rabbits and the deer enjoy them more than we do....but we will keep trying. 

Garlic. Garlic. GARLIC.  We see this precious herb to be one of the most flavorful, medicinal and beautiful plants on earth.  We grow 92 varieties of gourmet hardneck garlic and softneck varieties, 29 varieties will be available for sale while I build up my seed stock on the remaining varieties, we add more every year.  We take passionate pride in growing the most delicious, nutritious and potent garlic which we sell to local markets, restaurants and you.  In addition to Garlic, we offer a wide variety of tomatoes, radish, fruit and other vegetables to the local community.

How We Grow

Our farming techniques focus on encouraging a living, healthy soil. We combine the use of Green Manures, Composting, Companion Planting and Crop Rotations to increase soil, plant and microbe health and diversity.  We obtain our garlic seed stock from trusted and devoted garlic growers. We use only Organic soil amendments.  By choice, we are not USDA certified organic growers, however we are a chemical-free farm that uses only biological and sustainable growing practices.  We strive to provide our customers with the healthiest garlic grown in the healthiest soil. Raised beds and intensive gardening help us achieve our goals with our garden.
