2012 Silverskin Varieties
Silverskin varieties are the longest storing type of garlic and are generally what you see in the grocery stores. Generally stores up to a year, and can have up to 20 cloves per bulb, but the inner cloves will be generally small. They can have a fiery taste raw, but it does mellow out when cooked or baked.
Size shipped will differ between varieties. Garlic is sold in bundles of 5. Price stated is the cost for a bundle.
Silver Rose (silverskin) Silver Rose is probably the best braiding garlic we grow currently and one of the longest storing also. 12-16 cloves per bulb with a medium to strong flavor, this is the variety you hang onto if you want to have fresh garlic during the off season.

Nootka Rose (silverskin) Nootka Rose is a full-bodied heirloom silverskin from Washington but its prior origins is unclear. As with many silverskins, the bulb wrappers are thick and creamy white, but the clove skins of this variety are a beautiful deep mahogony color with red streaks with almost solid red elongated tips. Usually contains around 15-20 cloves per bulb.

Silver White (silverskin) Silver White is an excellent garlic that grows well for us and is currently my largest of the silverskins that I grow. It has a very good flavor and good warmth. Averages around 15-20 cloves per bulb and is an excellent storing type.

The orginal bulbs received were small but it is starting to size up nicely. Good medium heat with about 12-16 cloves per bulb.
